UKCC

Previously, each sport National Governing Body developed a unique coaching qualification structure. Unfortunately this has ultimately resulted in a lack of harmonisation between sports UK wide.

The UK Coaching Certificate (UKCC) is an initiative to endorse Coach Education Programmes via thirty-one sports in the UK. Each sport will continue to have unique sports specific elements, but there are generic components relevant to all sports, and therefore it is anticipated that the UKCC concept will encourage a standard approach to qualifications which will be endorsed and quality assured.

England Squash are currently re-aligning existing coach education qualifications to the new standards. A five level UK wide coaching structure will be implemented January 2007 (Phase one and phase two Level One Certificate in Coaching Squash and Level Two Certificate in Coaching Squash respectively October 2006). Following successful qualification endorsement the Coach Education Programme 2006/2007 (specific dates, course locations and applicable costs) will be released following qualification approval (September 2006).
