Volunteers

Volunteers are instrumental to both the infrastructure and delivery of Squash at every level within the game. Without volunteers, the club and county structures would not exist, nor would there be a varied and widespread tournament structure. England Squash recognise the huge role that volunteers play in the organisation and delivery of Squash at every level and as a Governing body we aim to do everything we can to practically support them. On a local level volunteer support is available from England Squash Area Managers by way of either offering support to volunteers or volunteer groups within the roles that they already do, to offering ideas on ways in which existing volunteer groups can recruit new ones. National statistics show that within Squash the age profile of volunteers is steadily increasing so a key objective for England Squash is to help introduce young volunteers into the game both in coaching and in administrative roles. Much of this work is done by training young volunteers through the Mini Squash Leaders Programme, then working to place these young people in clubs and counties working under the supervision of more experienced people.

For more information on volunteer support, please contact either your local England Squash Area Manager or alternatively Steve Amos, who oversees the National Volunteer Programme.
