England Squash announces partnership with Fusion Lifestyle leisure provider

Squash 101

England Squash today announces an exciting partnership with national leisure facilities operator Fusion Lifestyle to introduce Squash 101 to a new audience.

Fusion staff will be trained to deliver the sociable, fun programme and encourage new players on to court at the organisation’s 43 centres around the country.

The partnership is a great opportunity to increase the number of beginners through 101 as well as developing players in the traditional game.

Natalie Davis, National Communities and Partnerships Manager at England Squash, said: “I am excited about our new partnership with Fusion as it will allow us to develop our squash offering in the public facility space and allow us to reach a new market of squash player.

“I am particularly looking forward to working with the team to increase the profile of squash through tailored marketing campaigns that will result in an uplift in court bookings.”

A registered charity, Fusion began in 2000 in London but now manages sites across the UK. It will pilot a national marketing project to help centres make a bigger impact on how squash is perceived in communities. This will increase the profile of the sport to appeal to both existing squash players and those wanting to try the sport for the first time, as well as promoting the usage of courts. Two Squash 101 leader coaching sessions will be held to train Fusion staff in delivering the programme.

Francois Smit, Sports and Partnership Group Manager at Fusion Lifestyle, said: “We are delighted to be confirming this commitment to develop squash across the portfolio with England Squash. This partnership will bring lots of opportunities to increase participation among both current players and prospective participants and, in so doing, enable us to further expand our squash programmes across our portfolio.”
