Entries now open for the British Junior Open 2023 in Birmingham

Entries are now open for the British Junior Open 2023, taking place in Birmingham from 4-8 January with all ten age categories set to feature.

Renowned as the world’s oldest and most prestigious junior tournament, the five-day platinum event, hosted by England Squash, will bring together more than 650 junior players from all over the world, competing in the girls and boys under 11s through to the under 19s.

England Squash CEO Mark Williams said:

“We are delighted to announce the return of the British Junior Open at its full scale and are looking forward to welcoming back the world’s finest junior players to our flagship event. Restrictions on international travel caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, made the event untenable in the last two years but we are thrilled that so many young people will again have the opportunity to compete for the coveted titles in Birmingham next January.”

Event Director Mike Edwards said: “It’s fantastic to see the event back in Birmingham for the next three years following the break due to COVID-19. We can’t wait to welcome everyone back to Birmingham and are excited to see more players from more nations get involved and see this event back to its full scale once again.”

Current world junior champions Amina Orfi and Rowan Damming were amongst the stars of the last full-scale event in 2020, which saw a record 700 players in attendance.

The event will be staged at the University of Birmingham, Edgbaston Priory Club, Solihull Arden Club and West Warwickshire Sports Complex.
