Nationals semi-finals and finals to be streamed live via YouTube

The finals and semis of the Blowers Jewellers National Squash Championships will be streamed live viz YouTube

Fans around the world will be able to stream the Nationals finals live via the England Squash YouTube channel on Sunday.

Saturday’s semi-finals will also be broadcast online, with some of the country’s finest players such as Nick Matthew, James Willstrop and Laura Massaro expected to feature.

The action began at the Blowers Jewellers National Squash Championships on Tuesday with the qualifying rounds in the men’s and women’s main draws. The top players take to the courts on Thursday.

Join SquashTV commentator, World Open winner and former World No.1 Vanessa Atkinson along with special guests for colour commentary and reaction live from the tournament from Saturday. The following matches will be streamed via YouTube on the official Nationals website.

Saturday 11 February:

12pm – Women’s first semi

2pm – Men’s first semi

5pm – Women’s second semi

7pm – Men’s first semi

Sunday 12 February:

3pm – Women’s final

5pm – Men’s final

About Vanessa Atkinson

Vanessa was born in England but grew up in The Netherlands from the age of 10. She represented Holland at both junior and senior level and won 12 Dutch National titles as a senior. In 2010, she led the women's national team to victory at the European Team Championships in France with The Netherlands becoming the first team ever to beat England at European level.

On the international women's tour, Vanessa won a total of 25 tour titles including the Qatar Classic, The KL Open, the Tournament of Champions and the Dutch Open. The pinnacle of her career was winning the World Championships in Kuala Lumpur in 2004. In January of 2005, she reached number 1 on the world rankings for the first time.

After retirement in 2011, Vanessa worked as a MC and commentator at a number of events including the 2011 World Open in Rotterdam, the 2012 Hong Kong Classic, the 2011 and 2012 World Series Finals and the 2013 and 2014 British Open. Since 2015, she has been the main commentator for the women's professional tour along with her co-commentator Lee Drew, providing commentary for SquashTV, the PSA online streaming service.
