England announce squad for 2026 European Individual and Mixed Team Squash Championships

We have selected our squad for the 2026 ESF European U19 Individual and Mixed Team Squash Championships in Krakow.

Ten players have been selected for the Individual event from 28 - 31 March, five of whom will remain in Poland for the Mixed Team competition with one further player joining to make a squad of six from 2 - 5 April.

England earned girls' silver and bronze medals at last year's Individual Championships in Prague through Emily Coulcher-Porter and Mariam Eissa. In the Mixed Team event, they finished runners-up to France. England has a proud record in the Mixed Team event with 35 wins from 40 editions since it began in 1983.

As of last year, the Mixed Team event comprises teams of two boys and two girls, giving both genders equal opportunity to shine on the international stage.

England's squad:

  • Dylan Roberts (Kent) — current holder of both the British and English Junior U19 Championship titles, England's no.1 male junior and finished in a creditable eighth at the recent British Junior Open
  • Ronnie Hickling (Surrey) — finished sixth at the British Junior Open, the highest finishing Englishman for BU19 as well as winning the Chichester Gold event earlier in the season
  • Ismail Khalil (Warwickshire) — semi-finalist at this year's British Junior Championships and represented England at last year's World Junior Team Championships in Egypt
  • Emily Coulcher-Porter (Buckinghamshire) — current British and England Junior U19 champion who dazzles crowds with her unique hand-swap technique (team event only)
  • Mariam Eissa (Warwickshire) — an outstanding talent who won a GU17 bronze medal in January's British Junior Open, and in 2024, became British U19 junior champion aged just 15
  • Reka Kemecsei (Sussex) — currently ranked England GU19 no.2, English Junior Championship bronze medallist and winner of the Czech Junior Open in January
  • Gabriel Chak (Surrey) — still only 16, Chak is already no.5 in the England U19 rankings and reached the semis of February's English Junior U19 Championships. Runner-up in last year's U17 European Junior Open (selected for Individual event only)
  • Harriet Broadbridge (Hampshire) — also just 16, Broadbridge won the English junior U17 title last year and reached the last 16 in the GU17 draw in January's British Junior Open (selected for Individual event only)
  • Emma Logan (Suffolk) ranked no. 3 in England, finished sixth at 2025 British Junior Championships, currently fifth on England Road to Selection (selected for Individual event only)
  • Oliver Tate (Warwickshire) ranked no.4 in England, finished fifth at the English Junior Championshhips and is also currently fifth on England Road to Selection (selected for Individual event only)
  • Eve Parkins (Northamptonshire) ranked no.6 in England, finished fifth at 2026 English Junior Championships, currently sixth on England Road to Selection (selected for individual event only)

England's selection criteria is based on players' England Road to Selection points earned at selection events, as well as assessments of their commitment and behaviour by England Development Head Coach Tim Vail and Junior Talent Pathway Manager Lucy Townley.

Vail said:

"As a squad and coaching team, we're relishing the trip to Krakow for the European U19 Individual and Mixed Team Championships. England have a stellar record in both events and we're positive of adding to that with the talent we've got at our disposal.”

Lucy Townley added: “We can’t wait to compete over in Poland and feel we have some really strong players for both the individual and team events. It will also provide a valuable opportunity for our players to test themselves against elite European competition.”
