England select squads to defend Euro U15 & U17 titles in Prague

England Squash has selected a squad of dynamic talent to defend their titles at the 2026 European Mixed Team U15 & U17 Championships in Prague (7-10 May).

England have a strong track record at the championships, having won the U15 competition 18 times out of 23 since its inception in 2001, and lifting the U17 trophy on 26 of the 29 editions they have entered stretching back to 1995.

This year, the U17 event has new team compositions to provide equal opportunity for both genders, with two boys and two girls.

England's U17 squad:

Matthew Leung (Gloucestershire)

George Barker (Yorkshire)

William Burton (Suffolk)

Ameerah Ismail (Warwickshire)

Harriet Broadbridge (Hampshire)

Renata Colabella (Kent)

Matthew Leung, who finished a highly respectable 13th at the British Junior Open and fourth in February's English Junior Championships, spearheads the side in Czechia. He will be supported by George Barker, bronze medallist in Sheffield, and William Burton, who was part of the U15s' victory in Bordeaux last year.

Ameerah Ismail has had a superb season so far with victory at the English Junior Championships and a silver medal at the British Junior Championships before Christmas. Harriet Broadbridge has just returned from the European U19 Mixed Teams in Krakow and won the British U17 title earlier this season. England no.2 Renata Colabella retains her place from last year's U17 championships.

Alex Koa-Wing has won three England Squash Gold titles this season and finished U15 runner-up at the British Junior Championships. Tristan Sutton was silver medallist at the English Junior Championships and his Essex team-mate Kylen Calder has posted top six finishes at every selection event he's entered this season.

Esther Chak has had a great season, winning both British and English U15 titles. Podium finishes at the British and English Championships have also helped secure Sienna Hampshaw's place for the trip to Prague.

England's Lead Coach Adam Fuller will be joined in Prague by High Performance Coach Mike Harris and Team Manager Lucy Townley.
