Birmingham will host the 2022 Commonwealth Games from 28th July to 8th August in what is set to be the biggest multi-sport event to be staged in the UK for a decade.
The Games will feature 19 sports including squash with eight para-sports integrated into the programme.
Squash at the Games
As a core Commonwealth sport, squash must be present at each edition of the Games. Find out more about squash's history.
- Singles (men's and women's) and doubles (men's, women's and mixed).
- Athletes will compete in a straight knockout format where games will be contested over the best of five games with each game being won by the first player to score 11 points.
The University of Birmingham Sport, a world-class sporting facility on the edge of Birmingham City Centre, will stage all the squash action including the three medal ceremonies. Featuring six stunning glass back courts which can be converted into two doubles courts, a state-of-the-art all-glass show court will be specially erected at the venue. One of the existing courts features interactiveSQUASH - transforming it into a revolutionary 'smart court', tracking every move and shot, and features a range of interactive games such as Space Invaders.
Tickets start from just £8 for under 16s and from £15 for adults. The West Midlands ballot and main ballot have now closed but further opportunities to purchase tickets will be announced later this year.
