Want to know more about the Mixed Ability model? Having an understanding of the Mixed Ability model can help you bring together players of different abilities on court, no one is excluded and everyone is having fun.
Ran in partnership with International Mixed Ability Sports (IMAS), the course has been designed to introduce you to the Mixed Ability model, and explain how the model works plus the impact it has on those involved.
To run Mixed Ability Squash sessions, you will need to hold an England Squash level 1 coaching qualification and must have completed this course. Additionally, a valid England Squash DBS and Safeguarding qualification is required
How do I book the course?
Log in to your England Squash account or sign up for a new account. Within three working days you'll be enrolled onto the course and emailed all the information you need to log in and undertake the course modules.
How will I learn?
The course will take you around two hours to compete and is delivered completely online enabling you to:
- learn at your own pace
- access the course whenever and wherever you are
- get help and support every step of the way from our experienced coaching team.
The course is designed to give you an introduction to the Mixed Ability model and some of the important topics that relate to it.
There are four modules in the course and each is broken down into shorter topics. In each topic there are sections to read, videos and animations to watch, and pictures to look at. The modules are:
- Introduction to the Mixed Ability Model
- Exploring the Mixed Ability Model
- Impacts of the Mixed Ability Model
- Mixed Ability Squash
The lead coach for the sessions must hold an England Squash level
1 coaching qualification, and hold a valid DBS and safeguarding certificate.
This course is free of charge to complete, once you have enrolled on the course you will be uploaded to the online learning system within 3 working days.
