Apply for £150 International Women's Day grant

In celebration of International Women’s Day on 8th March, we're offering our affiliated clubs the chance to apply for a £150 grant to host an event to engage new female players.

What should the event look like?

Your event should focus on attracting new female players. It's an opportunity to celebrate and create some noise in your club! It doesn't have to be all about squash either - why not put on some food, bake some cakes and make a celebration of it? Here are some ideas:

• Invite the mums of your juniors to get on court for the first time at an existing session
• Hold a 'try squash' event and link up with a local organisation or community group to offer squash
• Link up with a college or university to offer an opportunity for their students to try squash
• Encourage your current members to invite their friends or family along to an event
• Hold a 'bring a friend for free' day at one of your regular sessions that week.

To qualify, clubs must:

• be affiliated to England Squash
• apply for the grant online by 17th January 2020
• host an event predominantly aimed at engaging adult females between the 1st and 8th March 2020
• add the event to the England Squash app and record all their attendees in the Squash Girls Can session type

Please note, the number of grants are limited and we'll inform clubs if they've been successful by Monday 20th January.

Terms and conditions

• The grant will be paid once the event has taken place and the players have been recorded via the England Squash app (only England Squash coaches and leaders can record players via the app).
• The event must be delivered by an appropriately qualified coach who is an England Squash Coaches Club member, or a Squash 101 Leader.
• Clubs must record at least 10 female participants to receive the grant.
• The grant can be used on anything from paying coaches to social media advertising to buying kit and giveaways.
