England Squash launches new points-based junior rankings

England Squash has launched a new points-based rankings system for junior players competing in England Squash sanctioned competitions across all eleven age categories, from the mixed under 9s to under 19s.

The new national rankings, which are powered by SquashLevels, automatically use finishing position data from Sport Manager, England Squash’s competitions software provider, and will be updated and shared monthly.

The new rankings will be calculated using a points system that has been developed with feedback and input from stakeholders across the squash community, including parents, players and coaches.

Rankings for players in the Boys and Girls Under 19 categories are based on the average points from their best five results within a 12-month period, with rankings for all other age categories based on the average points from a player’s best six results within a 12-month period.

Mark Williams, CEO at England Squash said: “We’re really pleased to have reached a long-term solution for the junior rankings that has been informed by the thoughts and feelings of the squash community.

“The junior rankings provide a great tool for young players to track their progress and celebrate their success throughout their competitive squash journey.

“The squash community have played a big part in helping to shape the new system and we thank everyone who has taken the time to feed back.”
