Senior Inter County Championships

2025 Winners and Rup

The Inter County Championships (ICC) is the largest competition run by England Squash with more than 2,000 players representing their counties in 22 categories throughout the season across Senior, Masters and Junior categories.

The Senior Inter County Championships provide competitive opportunities for players beyond club level in a team environment, and the opportunity to represent their county.

The event is split into two divisions, Division One and premier and matches are played across two stages which are hosted over a designated weekend.

2025 - 26 Entries & Fees

Entries for 2025/26 will open in October 2025

Last date for entry: 14th December 2025.

Fees: Counties will pay £100 per team of 5 players and £60 per team of 3 players. The fees will go towards the combined hosting of the event by England Squash.

Finals Venue: Pontefract Squash and Leisure Club

All players must be members of England Squash.

Tournament software used for this event is Sport Mgr.

Rules and Regulations

Adult ICC rules and regulations apply to this event. Please ensure you read and understand the rules at entry, you will be required to agree and understand the rules on entry to this competition.

Competition Format

  • Teams are made up of five players and played out as a best of 5 format.
  • Stage 1 will determine the teams for Division 1 promotional league.
  • The top 2 teams from Division 1 will be promoted to the Premier League in the following year.
  • Premier league teams will play on the weekend of the finals. The bottom 2 teams will be demoted in the following year.

Stage 1: 14th & 15th February 2026

  • Qualifications for Division 1 will be played out over the weekend of 14th & 15th February 2026.
  • England Squash aim to publish Stage 1 draws by 24th December 2025
  • Counties will be split into randomly regionally drawn groups of three or four.
  • Teams in the premier league will not be required to play in Stage 1
  • Details of the draws can be found on Sport Mgr.
  • Men: The 8 top finishing teams will go into Division 1 promotion competition.
  • Women: The 8 top finishing teams will go into a Division 1 promotion competition.
  • The Division 1 promotial competitions and Premier competitions will be played at Finals weekend during 25th-26th April 2025. Venue(s): To be confirmed.

Finals: Division 1 (Promotional Teams): 25th and 26th April 2026

  • The Division 1 promotial competitions and Premier competitions will be played at Finals weekend during 25th & 26th April 26 at Pontefract Squash and Leisure Club.
  • Both groups of counties will be played out in an 8-draw Monrad format with the bottom two teams from Premier Division being relegated to play in Stage 1 in the following season and the top two from Division 1 being promoted to the Premier Division.
  • Two teams are promoted and relegated each season (where appropriate)

Premier Divisions Finals Teams 2025-26

  • The Premier competition will be played at Finals weekend during 25th & 26th April 2026 at a Pontefract Squash and Leisure Club.
  • All Premier teams are required to enter the competition and pay the agreed entry fee. Any team that does not enter the competition cannot compete in the Finals weekend.
  • Both groups of counties will be played out in an 8-draw Monrad format with the bottom two teams from Premier Division being relegated to play in Stage 1 in the following season and the top two from Division 1 being promoted to the Premier Division.
  • Two teams are promoted and relegated each season (where appropriate)

Competition Management

  • The Championships are being run by England Squash.
  • Counties are responsible for entering teams and for the selection of players for teams.
  • All players must be valid England Squash members in order to participate in the Championships.
